Security Specialist ( Downtown)

We are looking for a security specialist as part of a permanent position with our client.

 

The IT Operations Security Specialist will need to support cloud infrastructure and services.

 

Responsibilities :


Responsible for day-to-day security tasks for internally managed systems:

  • Collaborate with other team members;
  • Support operational functions in the definition and implementation of security controls, processes and tools to comply with IT security policies and manage information security risks;
  • Monitor daily system events to ensure maximum system availability and service quality;
  • Take proactive measures to manage all perimeter security equipment or related items that may be interrupted or affected by threats or vulnerabilities;
  • Establish a strong automation culture for the security of operations;
  • Implement and manage automated penetration testing solutions;
  • Implement and manage an effective Information Management and Security Event (SIEM) dashboard based on the ELK stack;
  • Develop maintenance release documentation and keep it up-to-date;
  • Participate in the development of standards, guidelines, best practices and parameters as directed;
  • Assist in the evaluation of new requirements, technical designs and standards;
  • Manage day-to-day requests for changes to the security infrastructure of the internal development team and liaise, as required, with the Senior Advisor, Privacy and Data Governance;
  • Prepare changes for security features such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, access and identity management, etc .;
  • Configure, install, manage and maintain security features, and provide general information and recommendations based on best security practices;

 

Qualifications and Experience : 

  • University degree in computer science; five years of equivalent experience in the information systems sector;
  • Mandatory knowledge of AWS and Azure;
  • Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting security solutions, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit capabilities, as part of an overall system design;
  • Experience in the implementation, day-to-day management and troubleshooting of multiple vendor firewalls
  • Experience in day-to-day management and troubleshooting of intrusion detection and prevention (IPS) systems;
  • Experience in troubleshooting security solutions, including authentication, authorization and encryption capabilities, as well as securing access to devices;
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Windows servers, as well as Linux;
  • In-depth knowledge of firewalls and networks
  • Knowledge of scripting languages ​​(PowerShell, Ruby, Python);
  • Understanding of NIST, ISO 27001, ITIL, SAS70 (or 5970) and / or other compliance frameworks;
  • Bilingual
